The Contraceptive Technology and Reproductive Health Series modules are designed to meet the continuing educational needs of family planning practitioners, program managers, and policymakers in resource-constrained settings by providing information on contraceptive technology and reproductive health. These modules may be used individually for a self-study program or as training presentations for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, or other trained health care personnel. The purpose of this presentation is to familiarize providers of family planning with information on barrier methods.

For updated content, this document should be used with the World Health Organization's Selected Recommendations for Contraceptive Use, 2nd ed. 2004 and Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use, 3rd ed. 2004.
