HRIS Strengthening Presentation 10 May 2006

Leaders of the HRIS Strengthening technical leadership area presented the Project’s work in this area to a USAID audience on May 3. The presentation illustrated the importance of improved HR data for service delivery by sharing experiences in improving the HRIS in Uganda to date. The Project’s approach includes fostering collaboration among stakeholders and leadership for the information system, ensuring the system responds to country priorities, starting simple and expanding the system over time as possible, and focusing on local ownership and capacity building (for sustainability). The Project provided a brief overview of this work and provided a status report on the nine countries that have expressed interest to date.
