In conjunction with the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA) and Africa’s Health 2010, the Capacity Project contributed to a CD of family planning training materials for midwifery tutors and other health workers in Africa.

The CD stems from a successful family planning workshop held by the three collaborating organizations in Tanzania in April 2008, for tutors working in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. The CD includes materials such as slides with speaker notes, interactive case studies and quizzes, a pre- and post-test, evaluation forms and a guide for post-training monitoring and evaluation of trainees.

ECSA disseminated the CD at its biennial Scientific Conference in Zimbabwe in November and will make it available at its Health Ministers Meeting in Swaziland in March.
