Capacity Project Extends Partnership with UNICEF in Rwanda Print

Capacity Project Director Anne Wilson formalized and signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) that enunciates the terms under which the two organizations will collaborate, and the roles each will assume, in the delivery of emergency obstetric and neonatal care (EmONC) in Rwanda.

The memorandum of understanding extends a partnership begun in 2008, and ensures that it will continue through June 30, 2009.

The Capacity Project/Rwanda will provide human resources training, supervision and monitoring activities and transportation resources for EmONC implementation sites in Gicumba, Ngororero, Nyanza, Rubavu, Musanze, Nyabihu and Gisagara districts. UNICEF will remain responsible for the provision of technical and financial support to strengthen infrastructure at the sites.
