Capacity Project Leads Health Economics Course for Managers in Peru Print

The Capacity Project, the Pan American Health Organization and top economics professors at Pacifico University in Peru designed and implemented a health economics course for health managers.

This course supports the health sector’s need for managers with strong skills in costing and financing who can develop effective policies to build a well-trained, well-placed and committed workforce to meet the population’s health needs. More than 35 health leaders will participate in this intensive course, which will include ten hours per week at the university over the next three months.

In line with the Human Resources for Health (HRH) Action Framework, the course’s goal is to enable policy-makers to base their initiatives on sound economic guidelines with targeted and adequate budgeting.
